We have received our cards without getting CPO email. I got email for welcome notice sent on 08/05 and then approval notice sent on 08/08..got cards on 08/11..hope this helps...

I have to get the EMP LETTER latest by Friday June 29th from employer.
For that i have to sign the agreement by June 28th Noon time.
Today is June 26th and they are still working on agreement with their lawyers and would probably give me the final agreement tomorrow 27th noon time.
Between 27th Noon and 28th Noon how can i consult a lawyer ??
It all depends on how you want to lose the money.
(a) Pay the employer for breaking the agreement
(b) Do nothing and let employer send your case to collection agency. Ignore the collection agency and get black mark on your credit history (and lose money on higher mortgage/ auto loan rates, credit card interest, credit denial due to derogatory comments on credit report)
(c) Do nothing and let employer take you to court. Then fight the case and
(i) pay lawyer if you win
(ii) pay lawyer and the employer if you lose
At the end of the day, ask yourself how much it is worth to get a GC. If you think going through all this is not worth it, tell you employer to go take a walk and quit. You can start all over again with someone new.

Each IO has given me different info on different calls. Whatever they say about visa number cannot be considered true. Just say ok and move on or call back to get a different answer.

The Intent & Implicatins could easilty be challenged....I need not have to write how intent could be challenged, as fa as implications are concerned, country cap has given grief to certain section, while they are still living in the country...
Do we have any reference to say it is unconstitutional ? If EB country cap is unconstitutional, FB cap would be unconstitutional too.
IMO this entire country cap rule has racist intent. If the caps were to promote diversity, the cap should be based on ethnicity of US population (ctizens and GC holders). Are Indians and Chinese a a mjority in this country ? No.

Just called FedEx to find out why mine is not delivered yet. According to her, all USCIS packets remain at local FedEx facility. It seems FedEx will notify USCIS that there are packages to be picked up and they will be picked up by the USCIS agent (mail man??). It seems USCIS dont actually allow packets into their bldg. She says FedEX has no control on when the USCIS agent will come and pick up the package

Don't make stupid statements like this. It goes to show your intelligence and that you are an instigator. With statements like that you will alienate EB3 more. BTW, I contributed to DC advocacy and many other EB3s also did the same. That money apparently seemed to have have helped EB2 and not EB3.

Before SKIL bill there were Talent Bill and PACE act which were pending for a long time. the senate has not taken up the immigration reform debate yet. and it can be postponed forever. So how much hope is there for SKIL bill ?
Also after senate, there is a bigger hurdle, the house of representatives. Remember the Budget Reconciliation Bill was passed in Senate with the Immigration related Clauses. But was stripped off in the House. So is there any hope ?

Any lobbying for immigration is tough at the time of recession. I think you are trying to do advocacy effort. Without getting approval from core IV group it will not be any use as advocacy effort only will not work. Senators will note your concerns and will act only if some bill is introduced. You need lobbying with advocacy effort for changing any law. Lobbyists will lobby only at right time as if they do in wrong time it will backfire.

For people on H1B any wrong step will cause government to shut down the entire immigration or punish immigrants. They did it with TARP and now they will do it in every industry if we do not understand. The newspaper headline will be H1B Indians immigrants asking for greencards after taking American jobs. Like it or not, but this is how antis will show us and all Americans and lawmakers who are sympathetic towards us till now will support antis due to bad economy and for the need of Citizens to stick together in bad times. You have also made this issue of Indians and that is a big no no. Indians now getting a bad name and have become notorious and if you highlight 'Indians' then you are in for a failure. So any campaign should be about all immigrants and not just Indians. Indian Immigrants are having a bad reputation in IT circles these days.
Guys do you know that economy is going from recession to depression? I read somewhere that in the last depression they shut down immigration. So let us not do anything that will be hard on H1Bs just because you have a secure EAD cards.

But now, I have a feeling, that its going to be more like 10+ years. And 10+ years is a long time. Some sort of reform will happen in the next five or six years, and even that reform is not likely to get us greencards, since it may emphasize the family-based applicants.

I have a question from members who are getting ADIT Processing message. When did you file your I-485's? I am trying to figure out if USCIS is approving cases for those who filed recently w/o waiting for the ADIT or is it that the case was filed long time back and the previous ADIT has expired.
